Grace Lutheran Church

Revitalizing Neighborhoods

Founded in 1902, Grace Lutheran Church of Wyndmoor is a force for peace and  acceptance in that it welcomes a richly diverse congregation to worship each Sunday: members of the LGBTQ community as well as people of all ethnic and racial backgrounds have found a church home at Grace. Each summer the Church hosts a Vacation Bible School for members of the community to engage with their faith and promote the acceptance of all of God’s People despite race, religion, sexual orientation, or appearance. The Pastor of Grace Lutheran, the Reverend Carol Ficken, is also is very engaged with the wider community.

She is a member of the Clergy of Springfield Township, which organizes an annual Thanksgiving worship and responds to issues of the community. Grace Lutheran Church promotes the ideals of Zones of Peace in its partnership with a Korean Congregation which shares its facilities, and also by providing space to other community-minded organizations such as The Boys Scouts, Alcoholics Anonymous, The Wyndmoor Civic Association, and the township’s Democratic Committee.
