Facilitating Civil Conversations

When a group comes together to have meaningful conversations about deeply held beliefs, it helps to have a facilitator with the knowledge and skills to create spaces of authentic sharing and deep listening. In this moment of polarization, bridge-builders are needed more than ever.

This half-day workshop gives facilitators the tools to organize meaningful dialogue across lines of difference in their communities, congregations, and workplaces.

Facilitators will:

  • Gain knowledge, techniques, and incremental confidence in conversing across differences.
  • Explore case studies and practice skills for navigating conflict in conversations.
  • Receive a companion Facilitator Toolkit and Online Resource Guide.

Participants in this training put these ideas into practice by organizing conversations in their communities. Interfaith Philadelphia staff can be available to help support those ongoing experiences.

This immersive workshop equips facilitators with the essential tools to foster meaningful dialogue within their communities, congregations, and workplaces.

In this workshop, facilitators will:

  • Build knowledge, refine techniques, and gain the confidence needed to engage in conversations across diverse perspectives.
  • Examine real-world case studies and hone their skills in navigating conflicts during discussions.
  • Receive a comprehensive Facilitator Toolkit and access to an Online Resource Guide.

Beyond the workshop:

Participants put these skills into action by organizing conversations in their own communities. Our Interfaith Philadelphia team is available to offer ongoing support as these conversations continue to unfold.
